All accounts in connection with the election campaign of Mr Janies OBrien are requestion to be rendered before 31st December. A Wellington correspondent telegraphs that the elections have not affected the Christmas trade, which so far has been excellent, and promises to be better still. Owners are reminded that all nominations for the Rokatahi Racing Club’s meeting close with the Secretary, Mr M. H. Houston at 9 p.m., to-morrow (Tuesday), 23rd. Dec. At a meeting of the Municipal Rand held yesterday afternoon, final arrangements were made re the carolling. The Band will be divided into two, and will work practically every street in the town. Collectors will wait on the public for their ’Xmas donations. It was decided that the citizens be asked not to make any preparations for entertaining the members.
