(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) ITALY ACTING. LONDON, Dec. 2. According to a telegram from Belgrade, Italy informed the South Slav Government that in accordance with instructions from the Peace Conference she will prevent Dannunzio’s forces from advancing on Spalto.
SEVERAL STRIKES. R.OME, December 2
In consequence of certain unexplained incidents, a general strike has been * declared in (Rome, Milan, and Florence. The stoppage is complete. The strike has occasioned patriotic demonstrations everywhere. There have been . very very 'few disturbances, except where two demonstrators were killed in a collision with the police.

The ex-Premier Orlando, the Government candidate, defeated the Socialist Lazzari by 251 votes to 143, for the presidency of the Chamber.
