STAFFORD NEWS.

(Our own correspondent.) Mr Seddon was greatly pleased with the' hearty reqeptiwi given him at Turner’s Hall on Monday evening, by the 50 to 55 people assembled to hear his address on political matter^. Mr Sandle presided, and in a few appropriate words introduced Mr Seddon, as our tried and proved representative, now seeking re-election. During his speech, which took him one hour and eleven minutes to deliver, Mr Seddon referred to Parliamentary affairs, before he volunteered for active service; his sincere thanks to hi 6 coneonstituents for their consent in giving him leave to go to the war, and briefly, what had been done in the House of Representatives during the last session. He declared himself to be still a sound Liberal and progressivist; and would do his utmost for the advancement and welfare of the Dominion generally. The Chairman invited questions, hut as there were none asked, Mr Lyons proposed a vote of thanks to Mr Seddon for his address; adding that he might rest assured that the electors of thi s part of his electorate had every confidence in him as their representative. Mr W. M. Routhan seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously. Mr Seddon thanked the people for their vote and kind reception of him that evening and proposed a vote of -thanks to the chairman.

As Mr Seddon was leaving the hall, three hearty cheers were given him, with many expressions of good wishes for his success on polling day.
