After the Senate’s adjournment, thus elndhig the present session, Senator Hitchcock, the Democrat leader, declared that he believed that President Wilson would resubmit the Treaty at the next session of . Congress. Senator Lodge has declared that the Democrats have killed the Treaty. It is understood that Senator Lodge plans to press for the adoption, a concurrent resoluion ip the House and Senate, declai-ing that a state of peace exists, at the opening of the new Congress on December 4th next. Tlie Republicans have expressed confidence in their ability to put such a {resolution through, despite the fact that yM-ra’ly a similar motion was tabled in the Senate before the adjsummon.
