NEW FRENCH M.P.’s. ' # " PARIS, Nov. 19. There will be sonic interesting personages figuring in the hew French Chamber of Deputies. They will include the Abbe Watterle, a former Alsatian member. of the Gefthah Reichstag. He has always been noted as a friend of the French. There is also the Mayor 'of Hazebrouck. There is also; Abbe Muller, representing Lower Rhine in the new territory. Amongst the most notable journalists’ defeated are M. Reinach and M. Gustave Thierry.

FRENCH ELECTIONS. (Received this day, at 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 19.

French election returns are still incomplete. They confirm the earlier impression that the Socialists, especially the extremists, will be heavily defeated and that there has been a triumph' for M. Clemenceau. The Extreme Con- j servatives return is diminished in members, but the Moderate Conservatives' aro considerably stronger. The national block which is solidly for Clem-' criceau has secured half of the completed returns. A remarkable feature* of the elections is the number of new members who comprise more than half; the Chamber.

ITALIAN ELECTIONS. (Received this day, at 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 19

Italian elections are very incomplete, end indicate socialist gains especially in the north where the peasants laigelj deserted tho Catholics for the socialists. Generally there was a small vote, but the socialists seem to have voted, strongly and solidly.

BELGIAN ELECTIONS. LONDON, Nov. ,19. Results in Belgium show increased socialist representation of a moderate type not tinged with .Bolshevism.
