The damage to property 'is estimated at £20,00(). Hailstones as large as hens eggs ruined the crops. Houses were unroofed and trees uprooted while telephones arid telegraphs were disorganised. Every building in the neighbourhood was damaged. PRICE OF MAIZE. SYDNEY, Nov. 17. A record price was paid to-day for maize, namely 9s per bushel. VICTORIAN WHEAT. MELBOURNE, Nov .17. The authorities estimate the Victorian wheat vield at 13,578,124 bushels, as compared’ with 25,240,000 bushels the previous year. HELP FOR FARMERS. SYDNEY, Nov. 17. Special articles in the press have drawn the Now South Wines’ Government’s attention to the disastrous drought in the northern part of the State. A Farmers’ Relief Bill is being introduced in the Assembly next week, providing a moratorium under certain conditions. A grant of a hundred and twenty thousand has already been made to farmers who are in needy circumstances.
