FRIDAY, NOV. 14.’ The Council met at 7.15 p.m. Present: Messrs G. A. Perry, (Mayor), J. J. Breeze, H.'A. Thompson, F. McGregor, J. King; G. H. Blank, and A. Pai'kliill. The minutes were confirmed and correspondence outward approved. INAVARD correspondence From Secretary to his Excellency the Governor, Wellington, notifying he provisiting Hokitika on Dec. 2nd—Received. * From M. Hogan, complaining of " excessive value for rating purposes on section.—Received. I From R. Thomas, applying for ' reserve in Sale St., and offering £2 10s rental, free of rates—Received and accepted. _ From Secretary West Coast Caledonian Society asking ‘ for uso of * Cass Square and pavilion for New Year’s Day—Received and request granted. - reports. • From Treasurer deporting 1 receipts £497 10s 8d; payments £4OO 3s 6d-, debit balance £142 3s ' Accounts amounting to £436 11s Od were passed iofr payment. • From Manager Abattoirs, (Mr • Jarman,) reporting;'there were examined during October 21 cows,’ 62 buMoilis, 234' sheep, 1 2 lambs, 6 pigs and 3 ca Vck. Condemned 1 pifV month £54 18s 9d—Received. The sexton’s report'was received. The Council rose at 7.30 p.m.
