On account of the restricted quantities of sugar available, the Board of Trade has decided that for the present the export of condensed milk shall he prohibited. The Official Assignee at Dunedin, (Mr W. W. Samson), lias just closed an estate which Bhowed a deficiency of £2OO, in which the creditors row receive 20s in the pound, and instead of the above deficiency there \s a suudus of £4OO to go to the bankrupt.
The meeting of the Borough Council last evening lasted barely fifteen minutes There was very little business to transact and what there was was rushed through in a much faster manper than usual, other engagements by some of the members being tlio cause of this special celerity.
