HAMILTON, Nov.' 13. Major Luxford denies his candidature for Waikato.

MR P. FRASER’S CAMPAIGN

WELLINGTON, November 13.

Mr Peter Fraser, the Labour candidate for Wellington Central, addressed the electors to-night. He believed the coal trouble is nearing a settlement. The Labour Party, said Mr Fraser, believed that there could be no real settlement of the coal trouble short of the nationalisation of the miners. A State medical service was one of the most important propsoals before the people. The doctors should be working for social service and not profit. He hoped that the people would be roused to abolish the nominated Legislative Council. > A vote of thanks and confidence in Mr Fraser was carried unanimously.

BULLER CONTEST. WESTPORT, This Day. Mr D. G. O’Brien, (Liberal candidate), opened the Buller election campaign at Waimangaroa lasb night. He declared himself supporter of Sir Joseph Ward and the Liberal Party. He dealt exhaustively with the politics of day and got a good reception and splendid vote. His opponent, Mr H. Holland, speaks at Westport next Thursday.
