SUPREME COURT CASE
MR GREGORY’S CLAIM FOR . 1 JUAJAGES. SETTLED OUT OF COURT. The case of Gregory v. the King, a claim for £2OOO damages, has been settled out of Court, the Crown making an offer to pay £IOOO damages and £SOO expenses—£l,soo in all—in settlement of the claim. The case was set doivn for hearing at Wellington next week, and counsel and the witnesses were leaving to-morrow for the hearing. Messrs Park and Murdoch were the licitors for the plaintiff, for whom > Sir John Findlay, K.C., had been
retained. The case arose out of tinaccident on the Hokitika river railway bridge ,when a motor car and the Ross train came info collision, apd Mrs Gregory was vg'.y seriously injured in the accident.
