Father O’Donnell informs the Australian Press Association that he has cabled Mr Hughes as follows:—“Preliminary private investigation is proceeding. I have met the chief accuser and mangled him, and am waiting for others. lam relying on you absolutely for the opportunity for fullest public vindication. Thank God for good old Diggers who saved Australia from Prussianism. Stick to them.”
