CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.' Messrs Matson and Co. report as fob lows regarding their stock sale yesteiday:— Fat Cattle—There was a good yarding, no extra lines of steers being penned. The demand was good at better than last weeks’ prices by £1 to £2 per head. Prime streets brought £3O to £4l; others £23 to £2B; unfinished £l6/10/: to £l9/10/-; cows and heifers £l3 to £2O and up to £3B for show beasts. Store Cattle—There was a very large yarding, mostly mixed sorts and dealers lines. Enquiry was easier and a large proportion of the entry was passed. ’ One lino of 8-yr old steers sold at £ll/5/-; 2-yr old steers good sorts £9/15/-; yearlings £4 to £5/10/-; dry cows £5 to £B. The general tone of th o . market was duller.
Store Sheep—There was a largo entry nnclj good .sale right through. Best, wethers sold up to 44/-; best ewes, and hoggets from 35/- to £2; ewes and lambs from 18/6 to 24/-; mixed sexes hoggets from 22/- to 28/-. The. market was firm. Woollies sold to £3/12/-, prime 49/- to 58/6; lighter and inferior 36/6 to 46/-. Ewes sold proportionately end t''e market finished very late.
