WELLINGTON, Tin’s Day THE COUNCIL. BEAD A SECOND TIME. The Council met at 8 pm. The Mar ringe Amendment Bill was read second time, pro forma, and was referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. PASSED ALL ITS STAGES. Hurt Railways and Road Impiovcment Amendment Bill, having for its object the removal of the embargo upon tho building of a tramway line on Hutt road, was put through its final stages ard passed. Tlie National Provident Fund Amendment Bill was also put through its final stages and passed. NEW BILL DESIRED. Sir F. Bell explained he did not intend to proceed at present with the Expeditionary Forces Voting Bill. It bad been largely amended, and he thought it wopld be better to have a new Bill introduced in the House of Representatives. The Council adjourned at 8.35 p.m. THE HOUSE. The House met yesterday at 7.30 p.m NEW B T LLS. On'Mr Massey’s motion, the Shearers Accommodation Amendment Bill was introduced for the first time. Thb- Land Laws Amendment Bill was introduced by Governor’s message and read a first time. AMENDMENTS AGREED TO. Amendments made by the Legislative Council on the Public Health Amendment, and Education Amendment Bills wore agreed to. Sir Wm. Fraser moved the second renting of the Mining Amendment Bill, which, after discussion was agreed to, and the Bill was put through all its stages and passed. Tlie; House rose at 12.50 a.m.
