EXTRACTING THE INTEUNITY LONDON, Oct. flu.
Several questions were put in the House of Commons to the Government as to how far measures have progressed to obtain from Germany instalments of the indemnity demanded by the Allies. In reply, Hon. Harmworth stated that steps to recover the indemnity .from Germany could not he taken until the Peace Treaty has been ratified. Tie stated that much preliminary work had been done, however, by a Committee representing the principal Government concerned and in "articular deliveries under annexes four and five of the Treaty had commenced.
Mr Bridgman further stated tno British Government had been informed that Germany has not a great quantity of goods to export at present.
