AUCKLAND, October 24. Miss Ellen Melville and Mr Samuel Turkington, formerly of Hawera, announced themselves to-day as candidates in the Reform Party’s interests for the Grey Lynn seat. AUCKLAND, October 24. A deputation waited upon Mr Clutha MacKenzie, son of the High Commissioner, to-night, and asked him to stand as the official (Reform Party candidate for Auckland (East at the coming election. Mr MacKenzie has consented to stand.

Mr Fred W. Shortland, barrister, of Tanmarunui, announced himself, as an Independent candidate for Waimarino electorate. He pledged himself to support the Moderate Labour conference.
