(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) I AUSTRALIAN & N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION J FATHER O’DONNELL’S ARREST. (Received This Day at 10.35. -a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 21. It is understood the chaiges against Father O’Donnell, cabled on the 18th. allege he attended the Sinn Fein Con vention in uniform. It is also stated he dined with Griffith, the Acting-Pre-sident of the .Sinn Fein. > 1 Father O’Donnell, in an interview, stated he visited Dublin to consult a specialist, and subsequently visited friends and relatives in various parts of Ireland, and soon discovered that he was being followed. He realised he had struck a listening post on Killarney Hotel, when he began to talk to a man who professed deafness. He discussed, current affairs, including the strike and Britain's failure to solve the Irish problem. He chose liis subjects carefully in view of the fact that there were listeners in the room. O’Donnell met more mysterious strangers in Cork who were anxious to converse with him. LONDON, Oct. 31. Father O’Donnell added that when he returned to Dublin, the assistant Provost Marshal said lie bad received reports that he used seditious language at Killarney. O’Donnell replied that it was absolutely untrue. His arrest followed on a charge of conduct prejudicial to order and discipline.

It is reported in Dublin that Father O’Donnell’s release is imminent. He remarked to an interviewer that it is a strange climax to find myself In a traitor’s cell in the land of my forefathers, considering the part played 111 Australia in connection with the war recommendations with which I came to England and the fact that I frequently risked my life in the battle.
