BTG CASH PRIZES DEPRECATED
WELLINGTON, Oct. 14
At a meeting of the' executive of the Wellington (Bowling Centre, held tonight attention was drawn to a poster issued by the Southland Centre, respecting its New Year Meeting, stating that prize money aggregating £llß would be allocated. It was decided to draw th° attention of the Dominion Association to the programme in question, expressing the opinion that the giving of such large prizes presumably in cash was most harmful in the best interests of the game, and calling upon the Association to cancel permission to the Southland Centre to hold the tournament until that centre withdrew the offer of such large prizes, and reduced tho value of any trophy offered to not more than the maximum resolved upon at the Association’s last meeting namely £5 5s per player.
