ROSS BOROUGH COUNCIL

The ordinary meeting if? the Ross Borough Council took place on Tuesday evening. Present: M. H. Linstrom, Esq. (Deputy-Mayor), Councillors M. Moye, F Moore, A. AV. Upjohn, H. McMullan, AV. Hamilton, N. J. Phillips and AAL B. Browning. The minutes of the previous meeting wore read and confirmed; the outward correspondence was approved. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. • From AV. Punch,, notifying sale of two town sections to N. McNicol, and asking same be corrected on valuation roll.—Received. From N. McNicol, asking authority to use part, of Hoos street.—Received, and request granted. i From. The Finance Committee presented accounts to the amount of. £ll4 9s sd, which were passed for payment. Tho Treasurer’s statement showed receipts £49 13s od; debit balance £375 18s 4d. —Received and approved. The following applications were received for the position of Borough roadman.—J. Ableson, J. M. Allan, E. Teague, J. Jones, G. Lopas, J. Delaney, E. A. Singleton, and G. Thompson. A ballot to reduce the number to four resulted.—Ableson 8, Allan 6, Thompson 6, Teague 4.
