The House met yesterday at 7.30 p.m The House went into Committee on the Hospitals and Charitable Aid Board Institution Amendment Bill, (Mr Malcolm) ; Proportional Representation and Effective Voting Bill, (Mr Veitch); Hutt Railway and Road Improvements Bill, (Mr Wilford). A protracted discussion took place on the first clause of the first Bill, which lasted till 11.45 p.m., when progress was reported on it. A similar course was followed with the other Bills. The Toll Gates Abolition Bill, (Mr Wilkinson) was read a second time on the voices. The House rose at 12.17 a.m.
