LATE LOCALS.

At a meeting of householders held in Cobden last night, which was very well attended, tile matter of forming a Town Board was discussed. Mr G. Heinz was voted to the chair. After discussion it was resolved: “That this meeting of householders of Cobden approve of forming a Town Board for Cobden.” To-morrow at St. Andrew’s Hall, there will he on view' a splendid collection of daffodils sent specially by Mr D. M. Bradbury of Cashmere Nurseries Christchurch. There are 60 different varieties and are well worth inspection. The cut blooms will be sold at the termination of the show. There will be a charge of 6d admission afternoon and evening. At the Warden’s Court this morning before Warden Levvey the suit was heard of C. E. Sparkes, (Mr Murdoch) v. Jas Kelly, (Mr Wells), for forfeiture of. residence site. On the application of Mr Murdoch his Worship decided to visit the ground before hearing evidence. The Court resumed at 2 p.m. and after hearing the evidence ef plaintiff and defendant the Warden decreed forfeiture with. Court costs 17s allowing one month •for removal of a hut thereupon hv defendant. Though blankets are dear hot water is cheap.
