STRIKES IN GERMANY. (Received This Day at 8 a.m;) LONDON, September 29. The “Daily Chronicle's” Berlin correspondent says strikes are the order of -tfio day. ■ Nine thousand are striking in Berlin steel works. The trouble is extending to light and power works ; also there arc serious strikes among dock workers at Hamburg, Bremen, Stettin. Many agricultural workers are striking. The food situation in Berlin is serious. 'Butter lias disappeared completely, and no -meats to be bead. Land interests threaten to cut off the supplies from towns unless high prices are forthcoming. Power is growing in the storm towns whore the townsfolk threaten to march out and burn the farms down.
