Ono means which the farmer always has available to reduce the cost of living is to kill his own meat. But Mr Payne ,(Grey Lynn) has another suggestion for those whose butcher’s bills press heavily pon them. The Hon. A. T Ngata, (Eastern Maori) in a speech in the House last week defending the primary producers against tho charge of profiteering, mentioned that Hi parts of his district farmers who sold their meat to the Government at 4* per lb had to pay Is per lb to the butcher when they bought from him. “Why don’t you kill you own?” demanded Mr Payne. “Or kill the butcher?” (laughter.) Rain, snow, hail or blow don’t trouble you if you, fill your Hot Water Bottle before retiring; but see that it has the “Unique” Stopper. The Unique Hot Water Bottle won’t burst bee vuse it has the properly vulcanised seams. Better than beer, better than whisky, WOLFE’S SCHNAPPS.
