A FIRM MARKET. | Tile usual fortnightly fixture at the j aboye Yards was held yesterday when 63 | head of cattle were .submitted to public j competition. There was a representa- | tive attendance of butchers" from all ! parts of the District and competifion was keqn from start to finish of the sale and another 40 head of cattle would have been aasily snapped up at the rulinging rate. Ox beef was firmer through out the sale from 55/- to 65/- per hun- ■ dred, and cow beef brought exception- i ally big prices, Mr T. Wallace’s line of cows maikng the wonderful average , of £22/3/-. I The following sales were recorded by Messrs W. Jeffries and Co.— I On account Wallace's estate, I bul- : lock £24/12/6, 2 at £23/7/6 1 at £2l, | 2 at £l9/12/6, 2 heifers at £lB/17/6 3 at £l7/2/6, 2 at £l7, 2 at £l4/2/6. ; On account Mr J. Olsen, 3 bullocks, at i £24/12/6, 2 at £l9/2/6, 3 at £lB/10/-, 2 at £lB, 2 at £l7/5/-. On account : Mr T. Crough Snr, 5 light steers at £lO, and 9 stores at £6. On account | Mr T. Wallace, I cow at £22/10/-, 3 j at £22, 1 heifer at £lB/5/-, 2 heifers at £lB/7/6, 3 t £l6/10/-, 2 at £lO/5/-. On i account Mr J. H. Surgonor, 8 2}yr. storo steers at £9/15/-.
