The German Mark has touched three Jiapfpence exchange, closing at twopence, the Ipwest point yet reached for exchange. german TRADE. (Received this daj at 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, September 16. The “Times” Berlin correspondent reports Germany is sending a host of bagmen to Argentine where they hope to grab trade from America promising to absorb the whole surplus production of wheat, meat, hides and wool. Americans living in Germany are being placated for trade reasons, the argument being that as America suffered few casualties in the war they should forgive and forget. On the other hand French merchants are compelled to buy in Germany, which is tho only place where the franc is at a premium.
