Speaking on this subject to a reporter to-dav, an employer said: “ We are just borrowing from one another as wo can get it, a hag or two at a time.. For a month or more we

•ve been expecting every week to be our last. The foundries have managed :c struggle along, and so far our firm hvo not bad to reduce bands, but it is a precarious existence for the business.
