The Legislative Council met yesterday at 2.30 p.m., and continued the debate on the Address-in-lteply, the discussion being taken up by Hons. Gcddcs, Thompson, 1‘ looting and Earnshaw. The Council adjourned at 9.50 p.m., till 2.30 p.m., next day.
THE HOUSE. The House met yesterday at 2.30. p.m. BILLS INTRODUCED. The following Bills were introduced and read a first time—Popular Initiative and Referendum, (Mr McCombs); Legislature Amendment, (Mr McCombs) ; Wellington City Abattoirs Charges and Renewal Fund .Bill, (Mr Luke); Patea Harbour Amendment, (Mr Pearce).
At the evening sitting, the Board of Trade Bill was introduced and read a first time. Mr Massey explained this was practically the. Board of Trade Bill introduced by the Hon. W. 1). S. MacDonald, concerning which there was a generally expressed wish that Government should take it up, which lie gladly did.
REPLIES DISCUSSED. The House then proceeded to discuss answer given by Minister to questions asked during the session, and then rose at 9.30 pirn, till 2.30 p in., to-day. , I
