Mr Evans who attended the conferences in question supplemented the reports with explanatory remarks on the matters of local interest. mer programme, and after a brief discussion, the Secretary was authorised to reply.

GENERAL. The course and grounds were reported in good order, and some minor imppovemcpits had been effected satisfactorily of late. It was mentioned Air Seddon had been at considerable pains in carrying out a scheme of tree plantation for the ornamentation of the grounds. It was resolved to send a letter of thanks to Air Seddon for the special interest taken in the matter, also to thank him for valuable donations of trees; as well, also, as the following donors of trees and shrubs; Airs AV. Duncan, flowering (shrubs; Air J. Aland], weeping ash, elm, birch etc.; Miss Alandl, flowering cherries, thorns and shrubs; Air AY. AVilliams. redwoods and poplar cuttings. A draft programme was submitted in alternative form for the Christmas ’meeting, /namely £1,600 for sixteen events, or £1,500 for fourteen events. Hurdle events are included in each suggestion. The suggestions wore approved generally, but it was resolved to defer final adoption till the annual meeting of the Club' to bo held next month. The feeling was to put out as attractive a programme as possible, as with a holiday date a large attendance ,was ensured, and it was now but a matter of attracting a strong string of horses. Tt was reported a number of visiting owners on the East Con stand the North island had expressed (heir intention of visiting the Coast circuit of racing dates for the midsummer meeting.

Before the meeting closed, the President referred to the reported illness of Mr AT. Hannan of Greymouth who had not been able to attend the annual meeting of his Club.
