A candidate. AUCKLAND, This Day. L. J. Garmston, who unsuccessfully contested Wellington Central by-elec-tion in 'l9lß, is a candidate for Grey Lynn, as an Independent, faA-ouring moderate labour. INFLUENZA REPORT. WELLINGTON, August 26. During the Aveek ending August 25, there Avere 32 cases of influenza reported in the Wellington Health District, as compared with 23 in the previous Aveek. Three were of the pneumonic type. Of the remainder, one was reported as a severe case, the rest being classed as miTd. j In discussing the increase in the i number of influenza cases, Dr Watt, j District Health Officer, remarked that j as the population of Wellington Public Health District, Kvas in bout 400,000 the fact that 32 cases of influenza Avere ! reported in one Aveek should not he regarded Avith undue alarm.
