OBITUARY.

REV. FATHER TAYLOR. The sad news has been received of the death of Rev. Father Taylor, which took place in Queensland recently. Deceased, who was 44 years of age, was educated at St. Patrick’s College, Wellington, and completed his theological course at Mcannee. For seven years ho was stationed at Greymoutli, ministering under the Very Rev. Dean Carew, and for a short time he replaced Rev. Father O’Connor in charge of the Ross and South Westland district. He was later transferred to Leeston parish, and was afterwards appointed head of the Marist Missionary Fathers at Tcmuka. Some few years ago the Rev. Father Taylor opened up a new field of labour in Australia, preaching many missions there. He broke down in health recently. but his end has come as a great surprise. An obsequies service will be held at Greymoutli on Thursday morning at 9 o’clock. „
