TO-NIGHT,
Constance Talmadge plays the principal character in the Select picture drama “ Scandal,” to be screened by Pollards at the Princess Theatre to-night. “ The Perilous Plunge,” the 10thepisode of “The Fatal Ring,” “Transporting Wood by -Water,” “Help! Help!” a Vitagraph comedy, and a Topical Budget will also be screened in conjunction with the big dramatic production. “ Scandal ” is a powerful picture of the troubles into which a too-spitited girl who has been insufficiently warned of the dangers of life. The situation although during, carries such a strong lesson that it becomes a veiy strong drama dealing with the facts of life. The settings are gorgeous, and show society life iu its most luxurious state.

At the Opera House on Friday night All-Lean's Pictures will present the motion picture of all time: “The Woman Who Forgot,” featuring Geraldine Farrar. The picture is adapted from the well-known story, .Montezuma’s Daughter,” which, in turn, was based on actual historical facts. The strangest battle in history raged round the templed fortress of a race doomed to foreign conquest—all because of a woman’s love. A love that knew no bounds. Alvarda, the favoured Captain of the Spanish invaders, bad fallen wounded at her feet. But a little while before their eyes had met, and a burning love bad taken possession of each. And at the crisis of her country, with the nation’s clamouring for her aid, Tew:a was nursing lu-r lover j hack to consciousness. To him, this wonder-woman meant much, but bis mission was the capture of these people who worshipped strange gods. The crucifix was his. emblem, and bis duty was sacred. And lie put bis duty before his love—lie used her so that his , country might conquer hers and she ill her blind devotion made it possible. • Cursed by her father, unanswered by. her gods, frenzied with shame and bate she stood with vengeful knife upraised, j If she could strike this man, the curse ( of her people would be lifted. Bu.t they j could curse her—God forgot her —for t her hate, in ail instant i\as lost in . love, human, glorifying—which never, j never forgets. Though she bated the ( soldier who violated her hearth, there is one thing stronger than hate and ( that is love. And she loved this man with all the burning love of her kind, j And in love God remembered lier. The; supports will include Charlie Chaplin in, bis new million-dollar comedy, entitled “ Triple Trouble,” in two big reels, and the first episode of the. detective serial, entitled “The Eagle’s Eye.” The prices of admission were raised nil over New Zealand to see “The Woman Mho Forgot,” but here the usual prices will prevail.
