These statements were made after Molesworth had handed to Justice PHng a list of twelve persons lie said had supplied him with indirect evidence of corruption in connection with the sales.

A CONFERENCE WANTED. (Received this day at 10.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. A deputation from the Union Conference waited on Mr Miller asking for a conference of Government, owners and seamen. Cabinet subsequently met and discussed the position. Although no official announcement has been made, a hopeful feeling prevails that a settlement is imminent. A meeting of seamen agreed not to resume until Walsh, (Union Secretary) was released.
ITALIAN STEAMER SERVICE. MELBOURNE, This Day. The Italian Shipping Company at Trieste is arranging a service of large passenger cargo steamers between Italj and Australia. WHEAT BOARD RESIGNS. (Received this day at 10.10 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day. The Wheat Board lias resigned, refusing to act further until an enquiry into the methods of the New South Wales Board is made.
