- LEAGUE FOOTBALL. TAUSTRALIAN & N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION} (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 15. The New Zealand League team plays Goulbournc on the 18th, and Orange on 23rd or 26th. A conference of the New Zealand, Queensland and Rugby League -Managers meet on Saturday to select an Australasian team, and also discuss the interchange of visits between the Dominion and Australia, the programme for the English tour next season, and teams for the return visit to England.
A SOUTHLAND PROPOSAL. DUNEDIN, July 14
At a meeting of the Otago Rugby Union Committee to-night a letter was l-eceived from the Southland Union suggesting that in view of the splendid services of our footballers in the various war zones, the New Zealand Union should remove from the black list the names of all players who have not played the Northern Union game since the signing of peace. It was decided to ask the New Zealand Union to recommend the English Union to remove the disqualifications from all disqualified players who served their country in’ the recent war.
