rush to hauraki plains. THAMES, June 26. Quite a rush of Taranaki and southern farmers lias set into the IJauraki plains and land agents and solicitors are having a busy time, hi the past fortnight alone twenty farms on the plains have changed hands at prices averaging nearly £7O per acre. 'I he total amount of the deals is in the vicinity of £150,000. These figures arc taken from the transfers and there have been many sabs since. The dairy production from the plains last year was over £150,000, and in addition there were large numbers of fat cattle. Of 80,000 acres on the plain only a third are. yet open.
