[AUBTUALIAN ife N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION] LEAGUE TEAM CONTRACTS DISEASE. (Received This Day at 11.20. a.m.) SYDNEY This Day. The influenza epidemic is steadily gaining in virulence. There were 47 deaths and 346 fresh cases during the week end. All public and emergency hospitals are now full. Oakley and Levied managers of the New Zealand team, and three players have contracted the disease. The match against Orange for Wednesday next has been cancelled.
DISEASE
THE LEAGUE TEAM. (Received this day at 1.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The manager of the New Zealand team denies newspaper reports that they are suffering from influenza. They state they only have light colds. Regarding the players, they say one or two had a slight attack of common influenza, while visiting Newcastle, but now are quite convalescent. This team is generally fit.
