The following announcement is officially made: “The United States seaplane N.C. 4 left Ponta del Gada, in the Azores Islands at fi'.lS this morning, and arrived at Lisbon at 4.20 this afternoon.—Washington time. N.C. 4 ARRIVES. PONTA DELAGADA, Alay 27. A wireless received states N.C. 4 has arrived at Lisbon. DIRIGIBLE RECOVERED. ST. JOHNS, Alay 16. (delayed), A United States- destroyer has returned with the dirigible lost at sea. ■ DELAYED NEWS. (Received this day at 9.20 a.m.) NEW 7 YORK' Alay 16. (delayed). ' The New York “Times” Trepassey Bay correspondent states after an unsuccessful initial attempt ’to leave for Azores on loth. Alay, three United States naval seaplanes started on tho trans-Atlantio flight, on the 16th, a few minutes after 6 p.m. Mechanics worked al lnight preparing one plato, which had been damaged in the flight from Halifax to Trepassey. The ma- ' chines weighed 28,200 pounds each fully I loaded and must travel 1540 miles in order to reach Ponta Delgada (Azores). They expected to complete the trip in sixteen hours. PROPOSED FLIGHT. (Received this day at 9.20 a.m.) LONDON, Alay '27. The Air AlinistiV contemplates that super-airship, A. 34, will shortly attempt a non-stop Atlantic flight from Ireland to Newfoundland, via Azores, carrying sufficient fuel for the round trip. It is pointed out there is no hangar in America large enough to house the monster airship.
TO FLY TO AUSTRALIA
STARTING ON MONDAY. (United Service Telegrams). (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Alay 27. Lieutenants Kingsford, Smith, Val. Rendle and Cyril Aladdocks, (Australians) are flying at Blackburn a Kangaroo aeroplane, fitted with two Rolls Roycc engins. They intend to start on Alonday for a prize flight to Australia, via Turin, Brindisi, Alexandria, India and Borneo. Tho journey is to bo divided into twelve sections. The machine’s capacity is twelve hundred miles.
