ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. A FIRMER MARKET. j (Bv Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. j Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yester- j Fat Catle. —There was a smaller yard ing and the quality was not as good as' last week. Prices showed no change. I Extra good steers sold to £24; prune £l6 to £18; light and unfinished, £ll j to £l3; cows and heifers, £8 to £ll, and up to £l4 10s for heavy. j Store cattle. —There were only oddi-, ties yarded, and no large lines of any, description. One small pen of 2-year, old steers made £7. Dry cows brought £4 to £6. 1 Stoijo sheep.—-There was a small market composed mostly of hoggets, on which there was a small rise of from 2s to-3s. Ewes in lamb were still dull I of sale. Best wethers hoggets sold from 14s to 18s, others 11s to 12s ; best ewe hoggets from 17s to 20s; others 13s to 10s; forward wethers to 20s, but few were yarded. Fat sheep.— There was a smaller yarding and the quality was very mixed. Freezing buyers were operating keenly and the market showed a decided rise all round. Best wethers sold to : 41s 6d, a few extra good making more. Prime 33s to 30s Od; light and inferior, j 05 s 6d to 31s Od; owes best to 36b; | prime 26s to 32s fid;. lighter 21s 6dto 25s Od. Lambs also showed a similar improvement. The factories arc evidently not so congested, consequently ; freezing buyers were operating more freely.
