MAGISTRATE'S COURT, KUMARA
WEDNESDAY, MAY 21st. (Before E. C. Levvey Esq., S.M.) The police charged two hotelkeepers with failure to keep lights burning in front of their licensed premises. Defendants were fined £1 and 8s <_osts each. Grace Forster, (Mr. Murdoch), v. Catherine Giffnev, (Mr. J. Hannan), claim for goods supplied. By agreement judgment was entered for plaintiff for £6 and court costs.
WARDEN’S COURT, KUMARA. WEDNESDAY, -MAY 21st. (Before E. C. Levvey, Esq. Warden). W. R. Kettle, (-Mr Kiteliingluuu) applied for renewal of a residence site Kumara Junction. Objected to by Railway Department, (Mr -Murdoch). Adjourned until the hearing of cancellation suit, the King v. Kettle, to be heard at Hokitika.
M. Whelan, application for residence site Beach Road, Kumara, (Mr. Murdoch). —Granted. Guthrey and Perliam, (Mr Murdoch), for sawmill reservation 300 acres, Duffers Creek road.—Granted.
T. T. Lehmann and Sons, (Mr Murdoch), for protection for 12 months for mining properties at Capo Terrace. — Recommended to Minister for grant. Itobt. Ford, (Mr-Sellers), for reservation of timber area 3 -Mile Terrace.— Granted.
Fred F. Kean, (Mr Murdoch), for duplicate license for special- claim at Greenstone. —Granted.
G. Lawrence, (Mr Murdoch), for dam at Quinn’s Terrace Greenstone Road.—Granted.
