POLLARD'S PICTURES. NEW SERIAL—TO-NIGHT Pollard’s Pictures at the Princess Theatre to-night present the opening episode “The Violet Diamond’’ of the great Pathe serial “The Fatal Ring.” This greatest of Pathe serials to date consists of increasing excitement, and a‘story, which for uncanny power lias seldom been equalled. Every episode teems with astounding happenings and death defying events. Pearl White has the star role, and those who were charmed by her work in “The Iron Claw” will welcome back to the screen this clever serial artist. It is no exaggeration to say that “The Fatal Ring” lias all the qualities that made “ The Iron Cla-vv ’ ’ such a success. The first episode of “The Fatal Ring” will support the big Goldwyn star feature, “The Beloved Traitor,” a. powerful picture, De Luxe, presenting the winsome artist Mae Marsh, as “Mary" the girl of the fishing village, and the dream model of a famous sculptor, in one of the finest dramas yet presented. The plot suits Mae Marsh who gives a great representation of a powerful play, full of interest and thrills throughout.

The story is a beautiful love story of a simple fisher girl and a wonderful genius lover born by the sea. He swore to her dying father that he would love her always. How did ho keep that promise? In the great city, with the din of flatterers about him memorv grew dim, till ho could scarcely see the bright light of the beacon which shone for him—the beacon of a pure love. In the end, love came hack to love.
