TAVO MEN KILLED. WELLINGTON* April 27

While threo men were hoisting coal at the gasworks on Saturday, the crane overturned and fell. Two men were on the crane. One, named Mann, jumped clear, but the other, Ferrell, fell with the crane and was killed.’ The crane jib fell on the third man, Churchill, killing him instantly. -Maim in jumping from the crane a drop of ten feet, suffered painful injuries and was taken to the hospital. He was reported to-day to he slightly improved. Mann is married, with a young family. Ferrell was an elderly man, with a grown-up family. Churchill was a single man with no relatives in the Dominion. His mother is living in England.

FATAL TRAP ACCIDENT. CHRISTCHURH, April 27

A fatal accident occurred about mid. day. A trap containing a man named Ratsgin, his wife and child, Myrtle, was being driven along Casliel Street, when the horse slipped and fell. All the oocupants were thrown out. The child fell close to the horse, and was seriously injured through being rolled on, and died shortly after being taken to the hospital. The mother was cut about the head, but the father was uninjured. The father is a farmer at Taitapu.

KILLED BY A FALL. WELLINGTON, April 27 A married mail, John lliddall, while sitting on the rail of the balcony of the Carlton Hotel, in Willis Street, on Saturday, overbalanced and fell to the street. He died shortly after.

FIVE PERSONS INJURED. OPOTIKI, April 26

A serious motoring accident occurred at two o’clock this morning on the Hikurtia - Road iu the vicinity of the borough. A car containing five wellknown residents, driven by C. Cordon, took a wrong turning and capsized over a bank. Gordon was rendered unconscious, Tabb had ono ear almost torn off. R. M. Wise had his left arm broken near the shoulder. P. Bridger had several ribs broken, C. D. Cook sustained minor injuries. The. men were taken to tlie hospital and attended to by Doctor Forbes. According to latest advices, Gordon is still unconscious.
