RIMU SPORTS AND AXENEN'S CARNIVAL.
The Rimu sports gathering took place on the Rimu Recreation gtouud yesterday. The day was fine with a cold wind. The various officials were in their places and the sports were run off promptly and without a hitch, the afternoon proving very successful. The results were as follows: — Maiden Race, ] 00yds—S. Gaylor Ist, E. Heenan 2nd.—Time 11 1-5. Maiden Chop, 12in log—J. Bannister Ist, R. J. Bradley 2nd. Bushman’s Saw—Bannister and Curtain (3 secs) Ist, Blackmnu and Mitchell (scr) 2. Returned Soldier’s Chop, 12in log —A. Hende (5 secs) I, J. Miller (8 secs) 2, B. Koeti (scr) 3.—Nine starters and a dug dong go, Time 56secs. Handicap Saw—Bannister and Curtain (2 secs) I, Blackmun and Mitchell (scr) 2, Handicap Chop, 16iu log—A. Hende (TO secs) I, W. Blackmun (scr) 2, J. Miller (15 secs) 3. Fourteen starters.
