AMUSEMENTS.

POLLARO’S PICTURES.

TO-NIGHT.

To-night (Wednesday) Pollards will present in the Princess Theatre the enchanting actress Alice Joyce in the film version ol Robert Chamber's powerful * Woman Between Friends.’’ The picture is delightfully produced and contains many scenes of great beauty. “The Woman Between Friends ” is a story of intense emotions and dramatic situations, with sunny Italy and Paris saloons as a superb background. It moves partly through the Bohemia of the artistic world and partly through palatial mansions and fashionable resorts.

THURSDAY NIGHT.

Pollards usual weekly display will be given to-morrow (Thursday) evening. The star attraction will be the little favourite actress Madge Evans, in the World Film’s charming story “ Wanted, a Mother.” This little idol of millions is as winsome and lovable as ever, and the play is as delicate as a lairy story, while throbbiug with life and incident. She wanted a mother, and she wanders through life and almost reaches the clanging gates of death before she finds one. “ The Mystery of the Stranger,” the 13th chapter ot “The Mystery of the Double Cross ” completes the programme.

MoLEAN’S PICTURES.

OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT.

At the Opera House to-night, (rate, night), Mr McLean presents the great metro feature, “The Turmoil’’ with the acocinplished stage star Valli Valli and the juvenile actor George Lequere, a five act picturisation of the great American novel by Booth Larlsington. The scene is laid in a middle West city where John Sheridan becomes wealthy, his entire life being absorbed for the turmoil oil his own creating. The scenes arc intensely tragic and absorbing, and the plot is a most attractive one. In support there will be a great Sunshine Comedy a laughter maker that will drive away dull care, while the full orchestra will supply a new musical programme.
