There is a panic* in Budapest. The remainder of Hungary is quiet.

There are no indications of tire joining of the Soviet and the Bolshevik Army reported to be en route to Hungary from Russia, and said to be in the neighbourhood of Brody. ft is believed at Prague that the Bolsheviks are merely the Karolyi Government’s puppets.

Reports from Budapest state Count Karolyi for months past has been negotiating with the Russian Bolsheviks, with the objject of introducing Bolshevism in Eoumania and Jugo-Slavia. It is alleged that the Russian and Hungarian armies are co-operating against Roumania with the object of threatening the frontier.

The proclamation of a Soviet to replace Hungary Cabinet creates a precarious situation in Roumania. and the new .Czecho-Slovaks states. The Soviets manifesto appeals to peasants in Roumania and Czecho-Slovaks to join the revolution, which intends to free them from the yoke of • the capitalist and prevent the Entente handing over Hungary to the Roumanian oligarchy. Messages are accepted between Lenin and thfj n.ew Republic.
