Advice has been received that the following passed the Trinity College ’lntermediate examination for pianoforte held by Mr Charles Schilsky at Hokitika on October 19th. last—Ernestine Kelly and Maud O’Brien. Both were pupils of Miss Ileenan, A.T.C.L. The Westland electoral roll, now com-' pleted, for use at the Licensing Roll on April 10th, comprises 4667 names on the main roll and 1369 on the supplementary roll, a total of 6,036. there have been, however 192 names on the main roll struck off so that there are a total of 5,844 valid names on the roll.
The cases set down for hearing at the sitting of the Supreme Court at Greymouth next week are:—Rex, v. James Bourke, alleged horse theft: v. William Davis, alleged theft; v. William Davis, alleged personation; v. Thomas Itothwell, alleged assault and causing actual bodily harm ; Police v. Clive Laire Hill alleged unnatural offence; Rex. v. Edmund H. Shore, alleged theft of motor car; v. Alexander” McGruer, alleged false declaration. Housewives who are on the look-out for first class home-made clothing for children, . and needle work of all descriptions should not fail to take advantage of the sale of the Ladies’ Literary Society bazaar goods which takes place at the “Don” shop on Saturday afternoon and evening. There is a great array of goods to be disposed of and a complete clearance is desired. Prices will he very tempting, and as the goods themselves are also of a tempting nature, it "ill be advisable for patrons to visit the shop early, because the sale is going to he a great success, and the numerous lines will soon be snapped up as soon as the excellent values are seen.
