A SHOCKING OUTRAGE
AIR SHAFT DESTROYED. (Received this day at 12.25 p.m) AMSTERDAM, Feb. 25. A shocking outrage reported from Essen. A mob of 200 Spartacist rioters destroyed the air-shaft of a mine, imprisoning (100 miners, who cannot be liberated lor a fortnight. Policemen attempting to stop the outrage were murdered.
GERMAN MOVE THAT FAILED. /Received this day at 12.25 p.m) LONDON, Fdjb. 24. Germany, early in the war, made great efforts to induce the Amir of Afghanistan to advance <>n India, with Turkey’s aid. Germany promised the assistance of German officers.
