HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARD
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY loth. SPECIAL MEETING. A special meeting of the Board was held at 7 p.m. Present:—Messrs It. Wild (Chairman), F. McGregor, C. J. Nightingale, G. A. Chapman, and S. P. Evans. The Chairman moved that in accordance with Section 47 ot the Harbour Act, 1908, By-law No 157 of tlic Byelaws of the Hokitika Harbour Board adopted arid passed by the Hokitika Harbour Board at a special meeting of the Board bold on the 10th day of .July. 1914, be hereby and is, now rescinded, in so far as it relates to the charges on outward land wiird cargoes and that such charges be now doubled.—Seconded by Mr S. Evans and carried.

From Valuer-General, several communications in reference to discrepancies in rolls and stating they could only he attended to when the Valuer was available.—Received; General disapproval of the replies was expressed and after discussion it was resolved to write direct to the Minister in Charge of the Department. 'The Rate Collector reported verbally on various outstanding accounts, and also receipts since last meeting £324/5/and payments £368/5/G. Credit balance
at Bank and cash in hand £63/9/-. Pay rnents to the amount of £392/7/4 were passed for payment. The Chairman moved that in accordance with Section 28 of the Rating Act Amendment Act, 1910, all rates unpaid on March 31, 1919, be charged an additional 10 per cent. —Seconded by Mr Chapman and carried. The meeting then terminated.
