SOCIAL WELCOME AT BLUE SPUR
A very pleasant evening was spent, in the 151 ue Spur iinhlic Hall on Friday evening, the occasion being to welcome borne to Gunner 1). Feeney, and' Private W. Brown. A large crowd gathered to welcome their brave heroes home. During the evening dancing was indulged m and numerous songs were given by Misses Gilooly, Sherriff, Hatch, .Tones, 'Messrs Kernick iind W. Adams. After supper was partaken of Mr F. McGregor in a neat: speech welcomed these two boys bark and told them) bow their services were appreciated and bow pleased they were to have them with them once again. The crowd then rose amt sang “For They are Jolly Good Fellows” after which Mr Adams responded on behalf of the two soldiers. Dancing was then continued until the small hours ot the morning, when the gathering ended with the singing of God Save the King and Auld Lang Syne. Mr Adams kind ly acted at At.(A, in his efficient style while Alias Gillooly supplied the music with extras by Miss Aforgnn and Mrs Hnreourfc.
