Messrs Matson anti Co. report as lot lons regarding their stock sale yesterday hat Cattle—There was a medium yf*. rd'ing, the quality was good rad prices better than last week and fretting buyer H were only able to operate sparingly. Extra steers sold to .It! prime £lB to £2O; light and uii(ini->h-ed £l4 to £l7; cows and Jpdfers £l2 to £l6. Store Cattle—There was a good yarding mostly oj steers a 2 and 6 and I .vr. old, with a few pens of yearling., and dry cows. Owing to rain, prices were firmer all round. Steers -1-yr old in good condition made £l6/1 to filo.'to/-: 6-yr olds £ll to £l2/15/-; 2-yr olds £8 to £O/10 ’-; all good sorts. Yearlings good £4/15/- to £7 for extra. I)rv cows £0 to £O.
Fat Sheep—There was another small entry anrl price,cj wero firm at last week's rate. Host wethers to 60/6, a few extra special making -12/0; prime 62/0 to 36/-; lighter 20/6"to 31/6; host ewes |o -'iff/-; prime 60 to 66/6: lighter and inferior 21/6 to 28/-. There was a very small yarding of fat lambs but a good sale. Store Sheep—There was a fairly large entry and after the good rain of tin last 2 days the market was decidedly firmer till round. There was a large entry of hunhs, hut not many forward, sorts. Best lambs 22/-.; fair sorts 17/to 20/-; 1 bred wether lambs up to 10/0; 2-loot.li owo s to 66/6; S.M. ewes 62/0; best wethers to 20'- good 2-tooth wethers 26/- to 2-7/6. KOKAT.AIII STORE CATTI/E SALE. Messrs M. Houston and Co. report as follows:—We held a sale oT store cattle at the above yards yesterday, the yarding consisting of 260 heath 210 of which were cleared under the hammer. There was a good attendance of buyers from all parts of the district, ami as the quality of the yarding was
excellent, good sales were recorded, although the prices for young stock were easier than last year. The following were tho sales:— 4 2£-yr. steers at £8 10s for P. Ainberger; 6 16-mos. steers at £5 16s for S. Havill; 15 21-yr. steers at £9 2s Bd for Wm. O’Reilly; 18 mixed) weaners at £2 10s for A. Jamieson; 3 weaners for a client at £2; 10 weaners at £2 2s for J. Symes; 4 aged cows at £5, 1 cow and vealer at £8 10s for H. Growcott; 4 2)-yr. steers at £B, 12 15-mos. steers at £5 14s Bd for T. Clhesterinan; 5 cows at £6, 22 2}-.vr. steers at £9 10s for T. J. Meharry; 12 mixed weaners at £2 8s Bd for E. Gale; 12 18-mos. heifers at £5 14s, 8 at £4 7s Bd, 1 bull at £5 ss, 2 cows and suckers at £5 17s Bd, 12 2-yr. steers at £B, 1 cow at £8 10s, 1 steer at £5 for Mulholland; 10 15-mos. steers at £7 2s, 2 heifers at £4, 4 steers at £6 for D. Weir; 1 cow and vealer at £ll 7s Bd, 5 cows and 4 calves at £4 12s. 1 cow at £ll 10s, 5 steers at £4 7s Bd, 10 2-yr steers at £7 12s Bd, 16 ; 15-mos. at £6 17s Bd for G. Lyes; 8 weaners for T.
