AMUSEMENTS.
POLLARD'S PICTURES.
A BIG PROGRAMME TOMORROW (THURSDAY).
“The Awakening,” a splendid French story featuring Dorothy Kelly; “Embittered Love,” the 12th chapter of “The Neglected Wife ” ; and “ The Lady in No 7,” the first instalment of the latest and best Pathe serial, will form Pollards attraction in the Princess Theatre on to-morrow (Thursday evening.) “ The Awakening” is an exceptional and most interesting story of life amqpgst the artists ot Paris. It is daring, full of zest, and the careless reckless joy and despair of those who care not for society’s laws. The
motive power of the play is an infamous wager that gave birth to a diabolical plot and a duel to the death. “Embittered Love,” the 12th chapter of “ The Neglected Wife” brings this attractive story to within one or two chapters of the end. To-morrow night in addition to the usual splendid programme, Pollards will screen “ The Lady in No 7,” the first episode of the Pathe’s latest and best serial “ The Mystery of the Double Cross.” The serial has been a big success wherever screened, and it deserves to be. It is full of action, speedthrills, unusual situations, but above all mystery, rich and well sustained. Other serials may have puzzled you, but this will bewilder you. Mollie King is the heroine. See the first episode and you’ll spend the next fifteen weeks trying to discover “ Who is the Masked Strauger.”
