RECOGNITION FROM SOLDIERS

At the Victoria Military liospi'ai, Wellington recently, a very pleasu't ceremony took place when a presentation was made by the patients and expatients to Lieut-Colouel Moiice, who since leaving Gcymouth has been filing an important medical post under the Be fence Department at Wellington. In charge of the Military hospital in the city many hundreds of cases of returned soldiers have passed through his hands, and Colonel Morice’s work has been much appreciated. In asking Colonel Moric-e to accept an illuminated address (inscribed with., the names of many of the patients past and present), and a handsomely framed painting by C. Worsley, Mr Guy Munro on behalf of th e soldiers, spoke of the splendid work done by the Coviel to his patients, all of whom were most grateful to him for all his care and many kindnesses. To Mrs Moricc uas presented a a marble travelling clock. The presentation took Colonel Mortoe quite by surprise, but lie was extremely pleased and flattered by the recognition shown bv the men. The proceedings were of a very , hearty character the men showing a special desire to express in most cordial terms their personal appreciation of all that the Color • el had done for them.
