ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. AN EASIER MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday : Fat Cattle.—There was a large yarding, mostly cow beef. Freezing buyers were operating but not so keenly as last week. The butchers demand was easier, owing to the hot ueatliei. Extra steers sold to £2l; prime £l6 to £lB 10s ; cows and heifers £ll to £l4-; and np to £l6 5s for extra heavy. Store cattle.—There was a large yard i in g of all classes and the demand was J a shade better than last week. Sev-j eral good l pens of 3 and 4 yr. old steers j sold at £lO 15s to £l3s os and j £l3 5s 6d ; lower conditioned 3-year old ; steers at £9 10s to £lO ss; 2 year old j steers' sold at £1 12s 6d to £S 5s for extra. Yearlings and 18 months made j £5 10s to £6; well-bred £4 to £5. Dry j cows £6 to £lO. Fat sheep.—There was a small yarding, and owing to the hot weathei, butchers were not keen. Freezing buyers were operating and the market was firm at last week s rates. Best wethers sold to 38s; prime 32s 6d to 365; lighter 28s 6d, to 31s; best ewes to 34s 6d ; prime 30s to 33s 6d ; lighter and inferior 23s 6d to 28s. All iat sheep are now on practically a freezing basis. Store sheejl—There was a. small entry, mostly of inferior class. Wethers brought 17s to 21s. Best rape lambs were firmer at :20s to• 225, 3d; others los 6d to 18s. Best S.M. ewes sold up to 335; failing mouths 17s to 20s; good forward wethers 25s 6d to 28s 6d. The market was dull except lor bright forward stuff, or young ewes.
